Full-service real estate and property management firm Peabody Properties is pleased to announce that Kathleen Talbot of Westfield and Adriana Villegas of Chicopee have earned their Certified Professional of OccupancyTM (CPOTM) designations through the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA).
Kathleen Talbot is an Administrative Assistant for Powdermill Village in Westfield, and Adriana Villegas is the Recertification Specialist for Pynchon Apartments in Springfield.
Candidates for the designation must enroll in the three-day Certified Professional of Occupancy course, offered by NAHMA, and pass the CPO exam. The CPO course is the only comprehensive program covering the entire HUD Handbook, including the latest revisions. Topics covered include eligibility criteria, standards, tenant selection and screening, non-discrimination, allowances, adjusted income, certifying tenants and annual recertification. The CPO is also a requirement for NAHMA’s NAHP® (National Affordable Housing Professional) designation program.
“Congratulations to Kathleen Talbot and Adriana Villegas for attaining this level of achievement,” said Kristin Pine, Director of Training & Education for Peabody Properties. “The CPO designation through NAHMA is not only an important individual accomplishment, but also a valued industry designation. We are proud of these women, their hard work and their positive representation of Peabody Properties and of the industry as a whole.”
